Synopsis[]

When Danny is invaded, and the safety of everyone housed within is suddenly at risk, Dorothy calls on Space Case to defend against the evil Torminox. But when his fleet proves too powerful, Dorothy is forced to summon the most powerful "friend" in her arsenal.

Plot[]

In her fictional world, Casey Brinke, aka Space Case, was captured by his archenemy Torminox's Vectra in his ship and Torminox explained his ultimate plan, obtaining a necklace. With the Dannyzens, Dorothy, as a teenager, tells her friends in a supportive circle about how she was able to infiltrate Horst Eismann's museum to retrieve Niles' longevity talisman with the help of Candlemaker and thanks to the Dead Boy Detectives, she was able to see Niles as a ghost, telling him everything she couldn't tell him, mentioning that despite the difficulty, love always triumphed. When a group of bullies tagged a wall that read "Bona to Vada", Maura Lee Karupt and her friends took it upon themselves to repair it, before returning to the ambulance, where they entered Dannyland. Back at home, Danny talked to Maura about how times were hard as they watched the civilians celebrate. Dorothy saw a family having a happy dinner, so Danny tried to comfort her without success, something that was seen by Maura, who decided to go see Dorothy in her truck. Without anyone noticing, a robotic fly begins to split into several for an ambush.

While reading a comic, Dorothy was visited by Maura, who tried to convince her to sing karaoke, an offer Dorothy flatly refused and Maura told her how she felt better about herself by putting on her best wig and shining on stage, asking Dorothy Dorothy would talk to her and the others if she ever needed help, but Dorothy refused help because she and Danny wouldn't leave her alone. Maura told Dorothy that Danny couldn't leave her on top of him, telling Dorothy how the world needed Danny with the hard times of the abuse of the Dannyzens. The flies start biting the Dannyzens, causing everyone to pass out. Maura discovers Dorothy's Space Case comic while the girl told how the heroine saved the universe from villains and without being afraid, which Maura understood, sitting down with Dorothy, advising her to have her own adventures after leaving Dannyland, stating that Dorothy she could protect herself with her imaginary friends, frustrating Dorothy. Annoyed by Dorothy's behavior, Maura advised her to go on adventures and not read other people's, although Dorothy did not know where to go, but Maura recommended visiting the Doom Patrol for support, a request that Dorothy denied because they reminded her of her father and agreed to make new friends.

Suddenly, the power in the truck went out just like in Dannyland and Dorothy went to investigate with Maura, who destroyed one of the robotic flies, ordering Dorothy back into the truck through the cloudy atmosphere, heading towards her friend Asa Diamonds, discovering that she and the other Dannyzens had bucket heads, so Maura returned to the truck as she was surrounded. In the van, Danny found himself unable to teleport and Dorothy quickly realized that the Dannyzens had become the Vectra, the villains of her comics. Maura asked Dorothy to ask Candlemaker for help, however, Dorothy refused, acknowledging that there was only one person who could help them and using her powers, she looked at the cover of the comic, causing an electrical explosion that weakened the Vectra. Confused, Dorothy and Maura saw that the comic cover was empty, hearing someone knock on the door and to their surprise, Casey came to life, introducing itself to the duo, thrilling Dorothy. Casey preferred not to continue chatting, warning Dorothy and Maura that if there were Vectras in the area, Torminox was somewhere too. Outside Danny in his ambulance form, Torminox was informed by her robotic flies of the attack and found herself unable to enter Dannyland.

Getting out of the van and seeing the Vectra passed out, Casey explained to Maura that the flies turned innocents into their servants, though Maura asked if she was still conscious inside, which Casey did not answer, stating that they should stop. to Torminox, saying their motto "Space Case is on the Case" and counted how he defeated Torminox 143 times. Knowing that the duo did not have a spaceship, Casey began to smell something like a new feeling in her stomach and Dorothy recognized that she was hungry, so she gave her idol a burrito, thrilling her with the good taste. Privately, Maura talked to Dorothy about Casey, wondering how she came to life, though Dorothy didn't know how she did, as she wasn't an imaginary friend. Dorothy used the comic to explain Torminox's appearance to Maura, revealing that he was the father of Casey before his experiment and they wondered what Torminox wanted from Danny and for now, the duo opted not to tell Casey the truth, but Casey cut them off, naming them as members of her team, asking to know what they were hiding. Torminox used his powers to spy from the outskirts of Dannyland, observing Dorothy as his target, causing a Vectra to rise up as Dorothy told Casey it came from a comic, which she didn't believe until the Vectra attacked and Casey attempted to use it. her electrical powers, before Dorothy interrupted her, allowing Maura to kick the Vectra.

Dorothy confronted Casey, revealing that in the real world death was permanent, confusing Casey and trying to hide her identity from Dorothy for seeing the comic, though Dorothy reminded her how she knew of his past when Torminox turned into a monster, causing her mother to sacrifice herself to stop him to no avail and since then, Casey became a hero in fighting him, replacing her right leg with a prosthetic. Accepting the truth to be fictional and learning her father died inside, Casey demanded answers from the creator of the Flex Mentallo comics, before seeing the Vectra surround them on Torminox's orders and Casey creating an electrical wall, allowing the duo to get out of Dannyland, being cornered by Torminox, who demanded Dorothy's talisman to end the problem, which Dorothy denied and after Casey got out, Danny turned into a cube. Meeting his daughter again, Torminox asked Casey to leave Earth as it was not their fight, shocking Casey at her father's behavior. As Casey refused to attack Torminox, Dorothy, with no other options, summoned Candlemaker to help, attacking the Vectra, but Torminox was able to stop Candlemaker, turning him into a cube, horrifying Dorothy at losing her friend and fled with Maura. and Casey to a warehouse in front of Danny's wall, which was graffitied with a penis, angering Maura.

Dorothy berated Casey for doing nothing and not hesitating to fight Torminox, which Casey accepted for her victories, remembering that Torminox always came back, mentioning that she felt something new with her father, fearing that if she killed Torminox, she would lose her father and she remembered her childhood when she played with her father on the swing, being comforted by Maura, who supposed that she could reach her father's heart, and Dorothy recognized him. When another boy was painting the wall, Maura finally decided to confront the graffiti artist, however, the young boy showed that he wanted to erase the graffiti from the wall, proving to be a good guy, impressing Maura, who asked for his help with a plan. In the alley, Torminox and his Vectra arrived with the trio to negotiate, before Casey confronted her father, showing the boy's new painting of a young Casey and Torminox as a human. Despite the gesture, Torminox grabbed Casey by the neck, threatening Dorothy to hand over the talisman, frustrating Dorothy for handing it over and revealing to Maura that she never met Niles and that her infiltration with Candlemaker was false, since the Dead Boy Detectives got the talisman for her, claiming not to have talked to her imaginary friends, and with Danny and the Doom Patrol because they reminded her of her father, lamenting that he did not need to tell Niles his feelings. Angrily, Dorothy confronted Torminox, speaking of Niles' failures as a father by having her locked up as a child for several years, hating Niles for not seeing her begin to grow, and handing over the talisman to Torminox, in exchange for Casey's life.

Torminox was reprimanded by Dorothy for not being a good father and turned Danny and Candlemaker in, before escaping with his soldiers with the talisman. Returned to normal at Dannyland, Maura helped the Dannyzens and Danny felt bad for helping, however, Maura made him feel better before giving a speech about how they should learn to change the world on their own after meeting the teenage painter, convincing everyone to leave when they're ready, views which Danny accepted and the Dannyzens sang over the campfire. In Dorothy's van, Casey lamented over not reconciling with her father, thinking she could change and decided to meet her maker, something Dorothy agreed to, offering her help to her new friend. The duo saw Maura talking and thought about saying goodbye, but Danny promised he would tell her they left, giving the duo a new car, which Dorothy appreciated. In the car, Dorothy asked Casey to head to Cloverton, fist bumping to start their new journey as Maura watched proudly. In his mysterious lair, an Artist was drawing pictures with Casey's comic and saw Doctor Janus arrive with Rita's emotion necklace. Torminox also arrived to give the talisman to the artist, acknowledging that it must be better for Casey if he continues to help, which the artist affirmed, promising that when Immortus rises, everyone's past will be cleansed, making Torminox smile while the Artist continued to draw.
