The Decreator is an entity believed by the Cult of the Unwritten Book to be the shadow created by God's first light. In truth, the Decreator was brought into existence as a result of the cult's faith in the Decreator's existence. Regardless, its goals are the same: Decreate the universe. It was successfully summoned when the Little Sisters of our Lady the Razor read the Book, a human man named Elliot Patterson. Its plot was thwarted when the Recreator was summoned, recreating most of the things that had been decreated.

- Decreation: The Decreator has the ability to "Decreate" things, wiping them from existence and leaving only a few ashes that vanish just as quickly. While the Decreator typically looks at things before it decreates them, such as the Cloverton newswoman and Elliot Patterson, this is not necessary, as the Decreator decreates Willoughby Kipling's cigarette while he was inside Doom Manor, and thus obscured from view. The decreation happens in no perceivable order, though it is promised that Nurnheim and its residents would be the last to be decreated.
