Jesus Christ was the imaginary friend of Cliff Steele.
The Candlemaker made him appear to Cliff in the fair.

When Cliff Steele was 6 years old and was forced by his father to go to Catholic school and Cliff did not make any friends and created an imaginary friend Jesus Christ but the friendship would not last because Cliff's father took him out of school promising to return with his mother and being a family again and Cliff forgot about his imaginary friend.
Reunion with Cliff Steele[]
When Cliff and his friends arrived at the fair, Jesus Christ was one of the imaginary friends that Candlemaker summoned to fight the Doom Patrol. Cliff was looking near the funhouse for Niles and Dorothy and Jesus attacked Cliff and Jesus was super mad at Cliff because he forgot and Jesus kicked Cliff into the funhouse. Jesus teleported to the ball court and faced Cliff and Cliff tried to hang him but Jesus took an eye off Cliff and then ripped off his arm angrily and defeated Cliff and Cliff and Jesus stopped fighting and talked about why he forgot and Cliff.
He told him that his father took him out and had promised to return to his mother but it was a lie and Cliff told him that he is doing the same with his daughter, Clara and Jesus was surprised that his friend never wanted to get rid of him and Jesus realized that happened when Cliff was only 6 years old and Jesus picked up Cliff and they became friends again and Jesus forgave Cliff. Cliff and Jesus hugged and he was glad he could vent to him and Candlemaker possessed Jesus, telling Cliff that he didn't It's Jesus, leaving Cliff in shock and making Cliff explode destroying his body and then waxing Cliff.
