In 1957, The Post-Telegram published the news that Doctor Niles Caulder's superhero team, the Doom Patrol, defeated the Brotherhood of Evil. The copy of the newspaper was taken by Samuelson, who showed it to his master Garguax, who was disappointed by the defeat of the villain team and thinking that their mission would not continue.
In 2019, in a reality created by Mister Nobody in the White Space, Niles and his patients, turned into a team of heroes, read The Post-Telegram newspaper about how the Brotherhood of Evil had attacked Brussels, before the team left out for an emergency alert.
